Dual Background

Portfolio

Enterprise platforms, mobile apps, and government tools — designed under real constraints for real analysts.

DT
Dan Timek — UX Designer

Designer
with range.

I started as a UX designer and have been a product manager — which means I can hold a P&L conversation with a CFO and sketch wireframes in the same afternoon. I thrive at the intersection of complex data and human decision-making.

My work spans Wall Street risk platforms, a Federal Reserve supervisory tool, consumer mobile apps serving hundreds of thousands of test-takers, and healthcare systems in emerging markets. What unifies them: careful research, opinionated information architecture, and a bias toward shipping.

I run design sprints, write PRDs when no one else will, and have never once used the phrase "let's circle back on that."

How I Work

Process

Every project is different. The approach isn't.

01
Discover
Stakeholder interviews, workflow observation, and competitive analysis. I spend more time understanding the problem than solving it.
02
Define
Jobs to be done, user flows, and information architecture. I document decisions so the team can debate the right things.
03
Design
Low-fi to high-fi, often in the same week. I run design sprints when speed matters and iterate slowly when it doesn't.
04
Validate
Usability tests, A/B tests, and post-launch instrumentation. I track outcomes, not just deliverables.
